The motor yacht Singapore commanded by Sub Lieut. J W. Pratt, RNVR, ran aground on the beaches of Dunkirk. Re-floated on the rising tide she left with three Frenchmen.

On the way they picked up two British soldiers who were 'floating around'. Wine from the French water bottles revived them. In mid-channel they took three lifeboats in tow but when their engine broke down they themselves got towed home.

Now in Greek ownership, the Singapore is in Piraeus.
